Before I explain in more depth what the energy of this Full Moon in Gemini will bring us, I want to explain a bit more about what a Full Moon (and New Moon) in Astrology means. This might give you a better understanding of why so many, including me, are interested in the energy of each Full Moon and why it matters. So, let's talk some more Astro!

Understanding the Full Moon and Why It Matters

In ancient times, before we wrote things down, people noticed patterns in the Moon's rhythms and cycles. Nowadays, interest in these cycles is making a comeback due to our higher consciousness.

The Importance of the Full Moon

The Full Moon has been important throughout history, and now people are curious about why it affects their moods and minds. Let's simplify it. Knowing a bit about what to expect during a Full Moon helps you understand your feelings and experiences. With a bit more knowledge, you can handle the next Full Moon way better.

The Moon and Its Cycles

In Astrology, when the Sun is on one side, and the Moon is on the opposite side with Earth in between, we get a full Moon. The Moon reflects sunlight, making it look full to us. On the other hand, during a New Moon, the Sun, Moon, and Earth align differently. The Moon is positioned between the Sun and Earth, preventing it from reflecting light to us. The Moon is in shadow, and we can't see it at all.

As the Moon goes through its phases, it gets brighter. When it reaches the Full Moon, there are no shadows, and the Moon's brightness invites us to pay attention to what's happening.

Spiritual Meaning of the Full Moon

Symbolically, the Sun represents spirit, and the Moon represents our physical and emotional selves. During a full Moon, it's time to be open, to bring the light and awareness of spirit into your emotional and physical body.

Energetically, the New Moon is a time of unconscious activity, in the dark shadows. By the Full Moon, your awareness rises, and you receive insights that have been approaching you. This happens as the Moon becomes full. This awareness can give you clarity and awe about what's happening in your life. The Full Moon is not just a one-day event; it lasts at least three days. Being in tune with the Moon during the full phase can be a practice of emotional mastery.

Why Each Full Moon Is Different

All Full Moons share the same basics, but each feels different. This is because each lunar cycle happens with a different set of planetary forces. So, each Full Moon has its unique energy and therefore feeling. Pay attention to the zodiac sign affecting the Moon and other planetary influences.

For instance, the most recent New Moon on November 13, 2023, occurred in Scorpio, a sign known for evoking emotional intensity, it 'stings', like a true Scorpio. This Full Moon is in Gemini, a sign that favors logical and quick-thinking, communication, is imaginative and innovative, playful, youthful, curious, witty, and feels at home in its comfortable environment. Thus, the emotional intensity associated with Scorpio during the New Moon makes way for insights during the Full Moon in Gemini. This illumination provides us with a logical understanding of our lives, our comfortzone, in a curious, innovative and playful way. It will help us recognize what causes emotional intensity or what 'stings' in our lives—things that may not have been visible during the New Moon.

How the Full Moon Affects Your Tides

One of the first things that made me realize how powerful Astrology is, involves the relationship between the tides of the ocean and the Moon. I remember myself as a young kid, trying to understand how the Moon could possibly affect the oceans and their tides, as my mom explained to me. I thought it was magnificent. So, I will explain to you how this works.

The Moon literally draws the ocean to it by exerting a 'tidal force' through its gravitational pull, causing the water to reach its highest point at precise times when the Moon is directly overhead and directly beneath, resulting in high tide twice a day. This gravitational interplay is reflected in the lunar phases. During a Full Moon, the pull on the water intensifies, causing waves to surge higher than during any other lunar phase. This is a scientifically established fact. The Full Moon also symbolically represents high tides. Similar to high tide when ocean waters extend much further onto the shore, our emotional states undergo a similar expansion during the full Moon.

Having spent at least a month on Gili Trawangan three times, an island with a perimeter of 7 kilometres, I became increasingly aware of the different tides depending on the Moon phase. It's truly impressive what the Moon can do to the ocean, and consequently, to us! Just as the Moon influences the sea, it also affects our emotions during the Full Moon. Since human beings are composed of 70 percent water, the Full Moon can set your emotional tides in motion, potentially impacting your practical and rational thinking.

No, You Can't Blame the Moon

People often link Full Moons to emotional highs. But remember, you can't blame the Moon for your actions. It pulls up energy that's already there. Full Moon challenges reveal our own stuff, and it's never an excuse for our behaviour.

"A wise person rules over their own powers, not the stars in the sky." Understanding this keeps us from blaming the planets for things that are our own doing.

Why You Might Not Sleep Well Before a Full Moon

The Full Moon is said to affect our sleep and emotions. People often find it harder to sleep or have intense dreams during a Full Moon. Scientifically, there is a correlation between less sleep and Full Moons, even though scientists are not sure why. But don't worry. After the Full Moon, things get easier, and it's a good time to let go.

What to Do with the Full Moon

The Full Moon represents the feminine and lets you connect with your inner goddess. It's a time to let go of your mind and tune into the cosmic flow. Every full Moon brings different energies, so stay mindful of its unique vibes.

Keep coming back to this blog every month, get some knowledge about each Moon cycle and its unique energy combined with the planetary alignments, and you're good to go! ;-)

Full Moon in Gemini

As we delve into the cosmic energy of the upcoming Full Moon in Gemini on November 27, 2023, let's not just witness the celestial spectacle but understand the profound energies that swirl around us during this time. The Full Moon is a celestial dance of culmination, a promise of fulfilment for seeds planted during the New Moon. This emotional phase is characterized by romance, fertilization, and relationships. The Moon, radiant and full, symbolically illuminates our lives, bringing forth feelings and revelations that burst into consciousness. It's a moment to express ourselves, to release build-up emotions, even if they may not be entirely rational at this juncture.

Now, let's focus on the specifics of this Full Moon in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, and associated with the air element, brings swift energy influencing our nerves, minds, and vibrations. This can lead to racing thoughts and heightened energy, but it also offers opportunities for new perspectives and rewriting old stories. Embracing this energy can help break through patterns and outdated thinking, paving the way for a new reality.

Communication is a key focus for Gemini, and during a Full Moon in this sign, there might be a tendency to overshare or misinterpret words. However, Gemini's influence goes beyond verbal communication, encompassing thoughts, perspectives, and subtle signals. The energy encourages shifts in perception, challenging us to reconsider the narratives we live by.

Gemini teaches us that our lives are shaped by the stories we tell ourselves, and these narratives can be limiting. Gemini is smart, access quick-thinking, adaptable, curious, imaginative and innovative, playful and youthful, and can be very funny. They love words and writing. The Full Moon in Gemini prompts us to be open to information and inspiration that may lead to a breakthrough. It could be a sudden realization, a mentor's wisdom, or an inspirational quote.

Pay attention to seemingly insignificant details; they may hold the key to changing your perspective. During this Full Moon, remain open to unexpected information that challenges your existing narratives. Use the energy to release doubts, shed limiting beliefs, and let go of old stories. The fast-paced, transformative energy of Gemini can help you break away from expectations and assumptions, allowing new perspectives to shape a reality aligned with your highest visions.

Distance may creep into our connections as we voice our concerns or express lingering emotions, perhaps rooted in past events. The Full Moon asks us to be honest, urging us to analyze our inner landscape and contemplate our desires for the future.

The Sun in Sagittarius, as an opposite

In the cosmic dance between Gemini and Sagittarius, a delicate balance is sought. Gemini, the versatile communicator, is contrasted with Sagittarius, the seeker of depth and open communication. Geminis, with their diverse interests, can be restless and easily distracted, while Sagittarians seek profound understanding and often act as spiritual teachers.

The cosmic dance between Gemini's Moon and Sagittarius' Sun

As the Gemini Moon opposes the Sagittarius Sun, a mental axis is formed. Gemini represents the "lower mind," urging logical thinking, while Sagittarius embodies the "higher mind," encouraging broader perspectives. This polarity calls for balance, harmonious integration of logical thinking and expansive ideas—a lesson that the Full Moon invites us to explore.

This Full Moon is a cosmic invitation to engage in a profound journey of communication, attitude adjustment, and a sense of adventure. Something within us has been building, and now is the time to let the cosmic energy flow through us. Over the next two weeks, revelations and insights will unfold, guiding us on a path of self-discovery. So, let's not hold back; let's express the emotions that surge within us and embrace the transformative energy that the cosmos graciously bestows upon us during this celestial event.

Influence of Mars and Saturn on this Full Moon

In alignment with Mars through the Sun and squared with Saturn, this Full Moon brings forth a powerful desire to take charge, yet obstacles and challenges may stand in your way. While it's wise to delay final decisions and observe how insights are now unfolding can lead to a deeper self-understanding. So be cautious of making choices and taking actions too quickly, but paying careful attention to what's becoming clear at the moment is a smart move. The Full Moon will literally illuminate what is not visible yet. The tension of the different planets during this time can lead us to a deeper understanding of ourselves, especially our desires.

The influence of Saturn in this square may evoke feelings of pessimism or loneliness, potentially triggering dissatisfaction in various aspects of your life. You might think you're not good enough, as a friend, parent, or even to yourself. Your inner voice that criticizes you might bother you a lot during this time. On top of that, you might not like your job and feel like you failed in different parts of your life. Because of this, you might want to escape into your own world, work hard, or even rely on something else to feel better. It could be tough for you to take charge of making your life better. Deep down, you might feel unsure, but you cover it up by talking smoothly and being charming. However, by being the observer of your life and staying away from judgment towards yourself, you will gain more clarity.

Amidst the shadows, the call for change becomes clear, very clear. Saturn's critical voice may whisper doubts and anxiety, but it's essential not to fall into a victim role or self-sabotage. The combined influence of Mars and Ceres intensifies the need to break old patterns and creates an awareness and better understanding of genuine desires.

With Mars and Ceres opposing the Full Moon, you feel inspired and motivated to start working on your future plans. The challenge lies in prioritizing many of your interests. Engaging in profound conversations, reading, journaling, or studying can unveil your true desires and struggles. You don't have to make decisions right now, but be aware of what comes up and what makes your heart jump with enthusiasm. Then you'll know that those things trigger something within you, which is not to be ignored.

Consider where you draw emotional and spiritual nourishment. If the current trajectory feels superficial, a call to step out of your comfort zone resonates. It's time to embrace depth, engage in self-awareness, and fuel your emotional and spiritual growth.

Yet, fear may surface, resisting a dive into deeper emotions. The comfort of staying in the superficial may clash with the necessity to confront unprocessed feelings. Recognize that sidestepping this internal exploration poses potential consequences in relationships and professional life, potentially hindering your future plans. It's a pivotal moment; the choice to confront the unknown or remain restricted to the familiar lies before you.

How this Full Moon in Gemini is affecting me

While I'm finalizing this article, it's the morning of the Full Moon. I've been working on this piece for the last couple of days, and yesterday, my laptop needed to be recharged. I was working in the cafe of my gym in Canggu and forgot my charger. I strongly felt the need to do a workout, and after that, I had my dinner. When I got home, I felt really tired, but somehow, I couldn't fall asleep. I have to say, I didn't even think of the Full Moon because sometimes I have those days when I do a HIIT workout later in the afternoon. But the day before yesterday, the same thing happened, and that was my rest day! So, yeah, probably, my bad sleep is correlated to the Full Moon.

And what else? Well, after spending a month on Gili Trawangan, I'm back in Canggu, Bali. This has been my home for the past year. But my mind started playing tricks on me three weeks ago. I love the small island with a perimeter of 7 kilometers, which I can explore on my mountain bike. No traffic, a beautiful ocean, sunrise and sunset, my villa 50 meters from the beach on the Westside (I'm a Westside Gili Girl ;-)). I met amazing people that I can call my friends, and I just love the easy and simple vibe there. ALways around two weeks before going back to Canggu, I get this overwhelming feeling of sadness. Which is crazy because I love my life in Canggu as well!

So, I cannot complain, and I'm not doing that because Canggu has so much to offer as well, with its focus on health in both sports and all the healthy food options, amazing coffee bars, my lovely Body Factory community, friendly smiling Balinese people (although all Indonesians have the best smiles in the world that make me so happy), and my lovely wooden bungalow I live in here. I love both worlds, and it's very difficult to choose between them. I know it's a luxury problem. But I'm also a Capricorn who likes to ground herself. The last year I've been changing places so many times, and I feel I want to settle down. I love the place where I live in Canggu, but since a few days, my (maybe logical) mind is messing with me and shows me all the pros and cons.

Also, a little synchronicity happened on the first day when I was on the back of a GoJek, heading to my gym. We were driving behind a vehicle emitting a lot of black exhaust. Fortunately, the GoJek driver slowed down, preventing us from riding into it. At that moment, I thought, 'I don't experience this in Gili T.' Eventually, the GoJek dropped me off about 30 meters away from my gym because he couldn't overtake the vehicle due to traffic.

In the last few meters of my walk to the gym, a couple on a scooter stopped and said, 'Heeeeey, what are you doing here?' I recognized the woman's voice and her face, but I had to think for a few seconds to remember who she was. It turned out to be the couple who owns a small shop near my villa in Gili T. I cycle past their shop daily and always exchange enthusiastic greetings in Indonesian. They were in Bali for a week, visiting family, and decided to take a day trip to Canggu. It was bizarre that just as I was contemplating air pollution in Canggu compared to Gili T, I saw them at that exact moment. Her husband recognized me, and neither of them had any idea I lived in Canggu. What did the Universe want to tell me, I immediately wondered.

Another thing that was on my mind three days ago was the strong urge to swim in the ocean to purify my auric field. However, in Canggu, I feel the urge less because the ocean is not as clean as in Gili. The beach is packed with people, and snorkeling, which I started doing in Gili and love because it feels almost like meditation underwater where you hear nothing, and can explore everything, is not really an option here.

Well, in the end, it's not a real problem at all because I am free to go wherever I want to go. I have my backpack and suitcase filled with 33 years in that. So I can always go back to Canggu if I want to, but I already know for sure I want to spend Xmas, NYE, and my 34th lap around the Sun in Gili. I heard Bali is expecting 1 million visitors around this time, and last year it was a mess in Canggu during NYE, haha. Luckily I was in Nusa Dua, but I've heard the stories (and seen the Instagram stories!).

And my mom is going to visit me in February! I'm so happy! She is coming to Gili because I really want to show her the island, and from there, we're gonna travel around, but she can also just relax in her resort in Gili T.

As I'm writing this, I realize I've never written such a long article about the Full Moon, so the Gemini energy of communication and writing is probably what I'm tapping into. Also, my own logical mind (Gemini) and expansive thinking (Sagittarius) wants to explain to you better how it works with the Full Moon and the different energies, depending on the planetary alignments. I feel I'm being imaginative and playful in life about what makes me happy and how I'm going to create my most optimal reality. It's funny because you might think, you just came back from Gili T, so it's normal you think about that now. But I believe EVERYTHING is connected and divine timing. So that this happens now, at this time of the year, is not a coincidence. It's the same with the New Moon in Capricorn, which is always at the end of December and beginning of January, creating this ambitious, hardworking energy field. It's always the energy we feel when we are setting our new goals for the new year, probably fueled by the energy of Capricorn.

So, after all, what am I gonna do for now? I will let it go for a moment, and time will tell. I will keep you updated about my decision in the next article, when the Full Moon is in Cancer (I just looked it up). Interesting! ;-)

I'm going to put this article online now, and then I'm heading to the gym for a Legday! Lots of love from my side, and enjoy and embrace Gemini's innovative, playful, and imaginary energy in the upcoming 2 weeks!

-XoXo-

Liz
