The Chakra System

Updated: Apr 30

Today I want to explain our chakra system. How does it work, how does it connect to other parts of your body and, more importantly, how you can pay more attention to your chakras to remove blockages.

Let’s start with what is really going on in the last few decennia. Thanks to modern technology, we now have access to all the world’s information at our fingertips. And yet, all the algorithms behind this mainstream tech we all use, only shows us what we’re accustomed to seeing.

It’s creating social divides like we have never seen before. However, if we take an outside perspective on our species though, you might say we have always been disharmonic.

Which is kind of true. In fact, if we have to believe our esoteric history, we are growing more disharmonic for about 13,000 years now!

It is actually in our DNA, and it’s something that we are passing through as a species together. But, there is good news though! Many people believe we are nearing the end of this paradigm. This karmic cycle of disconnection and suffering. And how great would it be, if we will never be here again!

At the moment, we’re just not in tune with ourselves, and our collecting consciousness is starting to realize it. The reason of our disconnection from our soul is actually fairly simple. No, it’s not about politics, greed, capitalism, or any of that stuff. In fact, all of those are simply long term manifestations of the real problem, which lies on a deeper, much more personal level.

The true problem actually lies in our old way of thinking. Creating tension on every level. At this moment, while you are reading this article, all of us are actually going through a shift. We are changing to a completely new state of being with a new way of thinking, and a different understanding of our multiphasic holographic reality.

In this article, I will break down the concept of chakras and give you a full overview of this energy system.

You probably know that one of the central and core themes of many new-age disciplines is the seven-chakra system. If we truly want to understand the basics of chakras, we first have to understand the basics of light and color.

Seven color spectrum

When white light is shone into a prism, the light is refracted into a seven color spectrum:

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

We all are familiar with the fact that these are the color spectrum of the rainbow. Or even more familiar, the basic color pallet in Photoshop.

All the colors in this spectrum are scientifically called: Newtonian colors and are the foundation of the visible color spectrum.

These colors are not just colors. Each color has its own wavelength in the electromagnetic spectrum. It has its own vibration.

Red has the longest wavelength and the slowest vibrational frequency. We recognize this color as warm and stimulating.

Violet has the shortest wavelength and the fastest vibrational frequency. We recognize this color as cool and calm. So, colors are a frequency change that gets shorter and faster as it moves up the spectrum. This basic knowledge is very important, but first, let me explain to you what a chakra is.

Energy points throughout your body

The word chakra is Sanskrit which means wheel. Chakras are wheel-like vortexes, spinning in circular motions within the body. It forms a vacuum in the center that draws energy on a vibrational level and can draw anything from color vibration to thoughts and feelings of other people that we come into contact with.

So, in essence, chakras are energy points or centers that run vertically from the top of your head down your spine or from the bottom all the way up.

You can think of them as pools of energy in your body. When they are in their natural state they flow seamlessly. However, life is messy, and due to negative thoughts, abuse, and bad experiences, it can get in the way. Just like moss or algae, it can block the creek from flowing.

So to explain it correctly, your chakras are like the etheric motor of the soul. Chakras do not only draw in energy, but every chakra radiates energy or vibration and governs over a major organ or gland. These organs and glands resonate on the same frequency as each connecting chakra. When your chakras are balanced and aligned, you are happy, full of energy, healthier, and more in tune with yourself. When one chakra center is out of sync, it may eventually affect the organs and glands that it is connected to. These blockages can affect the other chakras because there isn’t a flow of energy anymore. This can cause body imbalances.

"Chakras are organizational centers for the reception, assimilation, and transmission of life-force energy. They are the stepping stones between heaven and earth."

Having Blocked Chakras

Chakras can become out of balance when it’s overactive, underactive, congested, or blocked. This is most of the time felt on an emotional, mental or physical level. The benefits of learning about your chakra system and energizing them are primarily for the harmony of mind body and soul. Understanding this system and being present with it can help us find out where we are in or out of balance.

Not only is each chakra connected to a specific organ or gland, each chakra also has a specific trait.

Opening, activating, and charging your chakras

Have you ever felt struggling with your ego? Or couldn’t you express yourself? Or did you have the feeling you had no heart? The reason why, could be because of an imbalance.

As we know, each chakra resonates to a color. Wearing clothing that matches the color of a chakra can even cause it to resonate.

It is even possible that if your bedroom is painted yellow, your third chakra, the solar plexus, is overactive because every night, this chakra gets a boost. The reason that something like the color of your room has an effect on chakras is because everything has its own vibration.

Our environment stimulates us to think, to feel, and take action just as much as our thoughts do. And so do colors! That's why millions are spent on research into which colors make products and services sell better.

Sunlight

Sunlight is our main source and provider of light, energy, and heat. Sunlight itself consist of energies in the form of visible cosmic rays, gamma rays, x-rays, visible light rays, infrared rays, microwaves, and even radio waves. The sun is always there and constantly, basically waving at us.

So laying in the sun for half an hour can give you a powerful energy boost. And on top of that, a vitamin D boost. Our skin loves vitamin D.

Sungazing

The practice of sungazing is an old technique whereby you look into the sun during sunrise and sunset, when it’s actually safe to do this. In fact, it’s an ancient practice that was said to bring numerous health benefits and skyrocketing your ascension process.

Many cultures and civilizations knew that gazing directly at the sun during sunrise and sunset when there are zero UV rays, has an incredible effect on your health. Engaging in this practice not only improves eyesight, but also boosts energy, improves endocrine health, increases melatonin and serotonin production and heightens sleep quality.

The rays enter through the cornea and and stimulate the pituitary and the pineal gland which helps it to decalcify as well as having similar effects on the brain as yoga and meditation has. This is acknowledged by many ancient yogis.

Since two weeks I practice this for myself. I wake up early in the morning and start with a morning sun run or morning sun walk. Especially when the weather is great, this feels really good!

Eat colored food

Even something simple as eating food that matches the chakra colors can be very helpful. It’s believed that eating red tomatoes, apples and redbeet are good for the rood chakra. Eating greens are good for the heart. Could blueberries and eggplants opening your mind?

Colored skittles however, may seem good for your entire chakra system, but they probably break every chakra considering what’s in them.

Meditation

Finally, the best way to open your chakras is to meditate. You can even get some help with specific frequency sound healing for every particular chakra. But you can also visualize each chakra in the area that it’s located, spinning and slowly opening with a flood of energy.

Reiki

Another way that can work with your chakras is through reiki. Reiki masters are people who are sensitive to and work with energy. They learned to move energy throughout their body and connect it and flow it into yours. It’s a very impressive process. Reiki is part of our genetic structure and stimulates life, growth, health and healing.

Reiki masters also typically communicate with your higher self for you and ask you what you need to progress on your path. Reiki itself is growing more and more popular in the last 15 years, so it wouldn’t be a problem to find a Reiki master near you.

Balanced life

There are many ways to open up your chakras and be more mindful. But balance is always the key. If you meditate on a regular basis, but you stay eating loads of sugars you won’t do any good for your body.

Ideally supplementing your own health with proper food, meditation and exercise. Medical science has proven that toxins and impurities including negative thoughts, chemicals in our food and other pollutants can influence the body. If these are consistent, then chakra imbalances can manifest. Which may eventually affect us on mental and physical levels. We can’t forget that we need to take care of our whole being, not just the parts that gain symptoms.
